The sea holds great wonder; it is still a great mystery of humankind, what lies deep down in the ocean. Encompassing the majority of the globe, there is still much to be explored and discovered, we cannot help though to fear it, it can be the cause of great natural disasters.

As a keen fisherman, David Stanley is highly influenced by the sea and uses abstract painting to attempt to capture the colours and contrasts the sea spits outs. In ‘Untitled ‘2011’ we imagine Stanley is exploring the colours the sea, sky and land, how they contrast when one looks out to sea.

Patrick Burke uses photography to capture the wonder of the sea. In his seascapes the contrast between the sea and a cloudy sky are very powerful, really bringing the sea to life, allowing you to feel as if you are there staring out at the sea.
