The surrealist tradition didn’t start with Dada and it won’t end with the landing a man on Mars. Maybe it’s because artists instinctually know that there is more to us than flesh and bones plus rational thought.

These artists are drawn to the subconscious, the cosmic and the fantastic like moths to the flame. There’s Austen Pinkerton who draws fabulous imaginary worlds and creatures; Peter Rodulfo and Andrei Deryagin who explore elaborate dream states and hallucinatory visions and Mariusz Zawadski whose paintings are like a Tolkeinian vision of Paradise Lost.

Two of the most striking in this series are Valeriy Kot’s Harmony of the World and Andrew Fitchett’s Full Moon. Go on, blow your mind!
