A country as yet unvisited in our online exhibitions, Spain is represented here by stunning landscapes, strong abstraction and of course, flamenco. Valdemossa, Bilbao, Evora, Pamplona, Barcelona…these romantic places have all been sites of inspiration for our artists. One of our best sellers, Susan Czopor’s Yellow Fan Dance is vibrant, patterned and uplifting to the spirits. Yellow also features strongly in Ivan Mitev’s study of the guitar in “Spanish ballad IV” and Patricia Clement’s “Sunflower Fields”. Mauricio Villamil’s pixel landscapes are both soothing vistas yet highly contemporary and experimental. Conversely, Richard Young’s work is powerful and figurative, with the stark black and white so inherent to the Spanish tradition of painting.
