To talk of solitude one must really extract the self from the world, to achieve a state of nirvana, an eternal bliss – alone, but not lonely. In a world where signs and simulacra invade every waking moment, the pursuit of solitude may seem at times both impossible and implacable. To greet solitude as a friend; is to be at one with oneself and to enjoy your own company. One must be able to feel the great stillness of soul that solitude can in its infiniteness bring, the patience and clarity of mind and feeling.

The works selected for the exhibition really exemplify the creative contemplation that solitude can bring. In particular take time to indulge in the peace that these pieces may bring. Turn off any outside noise and just allow yourself to indulge in a moment of solitude.
