“People don’t take trips, trips take people.” John Steinbeck. Like the little girl riding pillion in Read-Szymczyk’s painting; we all deserve our “Moment in the Sun.” Even though we are said to be living in a “Digital Age”; come May when the sap is rising, our minds are prised away from the computer screen by birdsong, freshly mown grass and the scents of the outdoors. Thankfully! Jimmy Barnes snaps OAP’s who haven’t lost the art of “A Day Out”and there’s a similar feel in Mark Bland’s ‘Northern’ seasidescapes. Robert Anthony on the other hand, depicts more ‘classic’ monochrome moments…Trips of the imagination can be found in Nikki Attree’s ‘Surrealist picture postcard’ paintings and in the eternal journey of the child in the womb created by Helena Aschenbacher’s photographs of ice sculptures. Whether you journey to Corinna Button’s delectable etchings or to Imran Bashir’s evocation of distant geographies, we hope you enjoy your trip!
