Fashion, although a complex, collective, industrial activity, seems often indistinguishable from Art nowadays. However, there are certain themes which seem to sum up the fashion mystique. First there are the accessories: sensitive pencil studies of battered Converse, Coleman’s “Secretary Shoe” or Walker’s aviator glasses. Next the body adornments: Slater’s “Red Nails” and Zuberi’s “Studs and Piercings.” And last but not least the clothes! Van den Bogerd’s corset, Davitt’s “Green Cardy” and Miles’ shiny red batty riders all conjure up diverse identities for consumption. Who will you be today?!
