Summer brings with it the desire to lose oneself and wander through woodland ways. The dappled light through trees has long since been a firm favourite of artists. Here we bring you work by Radka Myslikova and Diane Griffiths, whose contemporary acrylics respond to the patterns of repeated sylvan forms. By way of contrast, Julian Heath’s photographs portray the quiet calm that may be found therein. Carol Fulton and Alan Mynall’s differing approaches tease out the mystery of woodland depths, whilst Paul Cooklin and Grae Storm’s pieces concentrate on the flora and fauna that may be spotted by those who look more closely. One of our best selling artists Oleg Riabchuk provides delightful scenery whilst Samiran Sarkar’s paintings in flaming orange tell a surprising story, bringing a whole new spectrum of hue to what may commonly be thought of as “the woods”.
