Spring is ending and summer is near, the sun is out and the flowers are in blossom, gifting us with their majestic colours which only flowers can bring, bright reds, deep purples and stunning blues. Flowers in blossom create colours that are a joy to behold for artists who have throughout history used flowers in their work trying to portray their beauty. We have some fantastic examples of that here. Simon Fairless uses an almost abstract feel in order to show how flowers all blooming at once can consume a canvas with beauty and colour. Pete Kelly demonstrates how a field of bluebells creates a shimmering purple. Oleg Riabchuck brings to life an apple tree which has just blossomed with a fragrant white flower drawing you in. And Leanne Burford shows us a stunning pink water Lillie, bringing to life its surroundings.
