Mountains are things of great natural beauty, giant parts of land which have grown high and above everything else they surround. They create their own landscape and have a very natural living presence about them, with wondrous peaks and magical scenery. For any artist mountains are a joy to behold, the shapes of the peaks and surrounding landscape, along with the colours which can be produced; snowy white mountain tops, shrouded in mist as Oman Gauchan demonstrates in his Mount Everest water colour. The colours generated from the setting of the sun behind a mountain can also be a joy to behold also shown by Gauchan in, Highest Mountain of the world. Mountains also give the opportunity to experiment and excite when one uses their imagination to create wonderful colours differentiating all of the different peaks and mountain tops as Gegham Asatryan shows in his work.
